5000 Miles Completed For The Accomplishment Of A World Record

On 26th January, Alex Alley managed to pass the mark of 5000 miles on his desire to break the World Record of Solo Non-Stop round in his yacht which was of 40 foot and was a Pixel Flyer. He managed to get the Pixel Flying at around 17.6 knots, which was not at all bad for a monohull of 40’. And that is clearly a huge cluster of mileage out of the 27,000 miles of the expected route.

And in between, there were many conversations about his own progress against the present record which was set by Guo Chuan, who is a Chinese sailor in the year of 2012-13. The route of Guo was very much short but he almost spent most of that in winds which were very light, so he could not make most of it being able in order to get south direction into many sailing conditions which were very fast.

Guo had to make his directions in and out of the province of Xindao where he initiated, which meant that sailing up through the country of Indonesia where there was not a lot of wind, and certainly not much trade winds at all. When he initiated he might have had to sail in direction south-east across the Pacific Ocean to the Cape Horn, but again no winds (trade) in order to assist him. Between South Africa and the Cape Horn, Guo had to head towards north towards a waypoint that again stopped him for making the use of the perilous Southern Ocean to the capital Cape Town.

The round of the world route, which was taken by measurement (direct) and which was going around at 60o South latitude, is about 21,600 miles per the rules of Council of World Sailing Speed Record (WSSRC).
